We have 30 minutes to brainstorm our individual field projects. Why are people talking so loudly? I cannot think when there is this much noise. I would like my project to have something to do with teaching gifted kids more about themselves, group dynamics, and leadership effectiveness. Maybe a project with Max's 5th grade class, or the identified 5th graders.

Every time I hear that expression "gifted", especially regarding kids I wonder how those, supposedly "not-gifted", feel. Then again what if one is not gifted after all and then has to live up the rest of ones life trying to be something beyond ones natural capacity.
I have to agree...I'm not comfortable with the term, but it is the "official" word (applied by the State) to identify kids who meet certain testing criteria. It's a convenient handle, but not very thought-full nomenclature.
